Margaret has been kind enough to send me a CD containing a wonderful family reunion video/slideshow. The video shows a great deal of photographs portraying her family based in Canada. Margaret herself was born and bred in Canada, but her grandparents originate in Tynemouth. This has allowed me to expand the Tynemouth Bage line and put many faces to names. My great thanks to Margaret.

Today I took advantage of the good weather (and the fact that i happened to be passing) to visit Ollerton where a number of Bage's were known to live during the 1700's. I was able to get additional photographs of the grave of GEORGE BAGE and of St Giles Church. I also took several other photographs of the village including of what i'm told was the home of the Markham's. This was of interest because it was the Markhams who leased land to the Bage's during their time in Ollerton. I also visited the "working" water mill which was very interesting, with some good "old" maps of Ollerton .

This week has seen me gather a good deal of information regarding John Cradcok Bage of Stockton and his life (and family). John was a Board School Master from 1881 till 1914 when he retired. If anyone is researching John Cradock Bage and his family please contact me.

I am carrying out a study of the surname BAGE. I first began researching my family tree in the early 1990's and was soon able to get my line back to the eartly 1700's where I hit a brick wall. To help me I decided to start collecting all refernces to the name BAGE and the BAGE one-name study was born. I am interested in all occurances of the surname globally and would love to hear from anyone else with links to the name. My aim is to be a resource for others investigating their own lines. I am a member of the Guild of One-Name Studies where I have registered BAGE as my study and am currently a committee member & Editor of the Guilds Journal.
