I have high hopes for this year for the BAGE One-Name Study. I'm hoping to get a lot more data on line. Last year saw the introduction of the searchable Civil Marriages for England & Wales and this year should see both Births & Deaths appearing also.

It's also about time for a re-jig of the website which will take place in the coming months. For instance the user forum has been a bit of a disappointment, I had hoped it would attract more discussion and so I may rethink my approach with this if it is not of interest.

Please do let me have your thoughts on what you'd like to see on the website.

Best wishes for the New Year to all.

Keith

Keith Bagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17053114891632644053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28120607.post-1163191060777402832006-11-10T20:37:00.000Z2006-11-13T21:04:26.603ZSearchable BAGE Civil Marriages 1837 - 1973I'm pleased to annouce that I have now made available the first in a series of searchable data archives for all you fellow BAGE researchers.

First up is a searchable list of ALL civil marriages with the name BAGE in England & Wales dated 1837 - 1973. As such that means that i am collecting all references to the name, no matter which country that might be. Of course I have amassed a large qty of references already so if your looking for anyone in another country i may be able to help. Of course i am always happy to receive information too no matter what the location.

Keith Bagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17053114891632644053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28120607.post-1157659713371523572006-09-07T20:07:00.000Z2006-09-07T20:08:57.283ZSheffield / Wadsley Bridge - BAGE'sGeoff has been kind enought o send me lots of information on the descendents of William Bage (1808 - 1857) of Wadsley Bridge. The video shows a great deal of photographs portraying her family based in Canada. Margaret herself was born and bred in Canada, but her grandparents originate in Tynemouth. I was able to get additional photographs of the grave of GEORGE BAGE and of St Giles Church. I also took several other photographs of the village including of what i'm told was the home of the Markham's. This was of interest because it was the Markhams who leased land to the Bage's during their time in Ollerton. I also visited the "working" water mill which was very interesting, with some good "old" maps of Ollerton .

Keith Bagehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17053114891632644053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28120607.post-1149861455017779762006-06-09T13:45:00.000Z2006-06-09T13:57:35.366ZJohn Cradock BageThis week has seen me gather a good deal of information regarding John Cradcok Bage of Stockton and his life (and family).
